We wanted a good balance of  upscale and casual for this shoot so we started off at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta Hotel , then we headed to the streets of Buckhead for the casual look. I love connecting with my couples and i got the opportunity to know Margaret and Abimbola a little bit more. Congrats guys! Check out some images from the shoot. Enjoy!

Hello friends! Thank you for dropping by. Excited to share Ann and Emmanuel’s engagement shoot today! When Ann told me about her idea for her engagement shoot i was stoked about the opportunity.  I love it when couples incorporate important aspects of their life into an engagement shoot. We (and the dog 🙂 ) had so much fun at the Atlanta Silverbacks Stadium & Grand Hyatt Buckhead . Can’t wait to celebrate with this amazing couple next month. Check out their story and images below. Enjoy!

How they met:

Emmanuel and I met at Jubilee Christian Church International during my high school senior year in 2007 and we would say hi to each other at church in passing and had several mutual friends. In November 2014, I went to Nigeria to visit my grandmother and family and was discouraged from going by myself from so many people. I prayed to God for safe journey mercies and if I made it to Nigeria nad back to the U.S. safely, I will give a testimony. When I got back from Nigeria safe and sound, I gave a testimony at church about my trip. After church service, Emmanuel approached me and told me he heard my testimony and asked about my trip to Nigeria. I told him about my trip and we had a great conversation. Later that week, he asked me for my number on Facebook. From then on we got to know each other better.
About the proposal:
Emmanuel and I went ring shopping in November 2016, we designed and picked out a ring together. Emmanuel original plan was to propose to me on my graduation day December 14,2016. He had the jewelry store call me and convinced me that I wouldn’t be able to get my ring, which Emmanuel was the master mind behind. I was stressing about it and Emmanuel didn’t want me to stress since I was approaching my final exam.So on December 3,2016, Emmanuel prepared a nice delicious meal after I had a rough shift at work and proposed to me with the ring of my dreams, which earlier he had me under the impression I was not getting and I cried and said YES! I thank God for blessing me with Emmanuel, he truly is my other half that I cannot live without and look forward to our happily ever after.

Carter Center | Japanese Garden | Midtown Atlanta Engagement Session | Fotos by Fola

Hello! Thank you for coming by the blog. I hope the new month is off to a great start for you. Today, i am excited to share Danielle and Gboluma’s Engagement session which was also featured on Munaluchi Bride! I truly love Danielle and Gboluma’s love story! Gboluma was serving in Japan while they were dating and despite the massive distance between each other they made it work. I had so much fun with them both during the shoot.  The shoot took place at the Japanese Garden at The Carter Center. Since Gboluma Served in Japan it just made sense and i really loved how it came out.  I can’t wait to share their beautiful wedding pictures as well . Stay tuned. Check out the couples story below. Enjoy!

How it all started!

On December 28, 2012 Gboluma was introduced to Danielle, by a neutral friend, Alex Williams at a gathering held at Danielle’s Parent’s home. Gboluma and Danielle saw each other as great eye candy but both did not allow their egos to admit to their desires.

The second time they met again at a party and action was taken! Gboluma couldn’t let Danielle leave without getting her phone number. Danielle did not admit this but she couldn’t wait to hear from him. Once again, both of their big egos got in the way and they briefly texted after their encounter.

The third encounter occurred on January 19, 2013 at a friend’s birthday party. Gboluma remembers asking Danielle’s friend about her coming to the party and looking forward to seeing her. Danielle remembers them staying at the party for an hour and spending the rest of the night talking in her car. They both admit that their conversation was one of the best conversations in a long time.

Because of such great interest, Danielle admits that she couldn’t wait for their next encounter. She drove forty-five minutes and invited Gboluma to assist her in picking out a pair of workout sneakers. It was at the store that Gboluma realized that he was interested in more than a friendship when he saw the salesperson flirt with Danielle. A month later, Gboluma sent Danielle a Valentine gift to her home and invited her to a Valentine’s day party. The very next day he asked her to be his girlfriend. The Rest is History!!!!!!!!

After spending a year away from Danielle in Okinawa, Japan, Gboluma returned home with the intention of proposing to Danielle on a carriage ride but due to Danielle being fashionably late, that plan failed. Gboluma stated he quickly when into panic mode, not knowing what other ideas he could come up with in such a short time. The next day, Danielle expressed her love for heights and suggested that they take the helicopter tour of Blue Ridge Mountains. Gboluma quickly agreed and planed his proposal. With a big smile, Danielle said she honestly thought Gboluma was afraid when he was pulling the ring out his pocket. She said YES! The Rest is History!!!!!!!!

Chiamaka + Ifeanyi Annapolis Maryland Wedding | St. Anne's Church | Martin’s Crosswinds | Fotos by Fola

Hello friends! TGIF!! Thank you so much for dropping by. Early Last year i had the opportunity to travel to Annapolis Maryland to photograph the wedding of Chiamaka and Ifeanyi. This was one of my favorite weddings of the year. I had a blast covering every aspect of the wedding. I loved the spirit of the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, guests and the vendors i worked with. I pretty much enjoyed it all which is awesome.  This wedding was featured on Borrowed and Blue and on Washingtonian Wedding blog! I actually shot Chiamaka and Ifeanyi’s Traditional wedding the previous year which was an amazing event so i knew their wedding would be fun. I am so happy Chiamaka and Ifeanyi trusted me to capture their special day. It was definitely an honor. Congrats guys. I wish you both a blessed and happy married life! The ceremony took place at St. Anne’s Church and reception at Martin’s Crosswinds . Check out some images from the day!

How it all started

It wasn’t until attending the same convention for Nigerian young professionals that Chi-Chi and Ifeanyi officially met. After being introduced by mutual friends who had met at the first gathering, Chi-Chi and Ifeanyi quickly hit it off, ditching the conference to sit by the pool to chat all night long.
A year and a half later, Ifeanyi, knowing Chi-Chi is a fan of waterfalls, invited her to go to the National Botanical Garden. While Chi-Chi was distracted by the garden’s petite waterfall, Ifeanyi asked someone to take their picture. As the camera snapped away, Ifeanyi reached into his pocket to pull out a ring. He got down on one knee, but Chi-Chi was so stunned that it took an onlooker shouting, “Say yes!” to get a response out of her.

Adeola + John Engaged!

February 26, 2016 | Engagement Sessions | 1 Comment

Virginia Highlands Engagement Session

TGIF! Thank you for stopping by.  Adeola and John are gracing the blog today! I enjoyed hanging with this lovely couple. We had a great time getting to know each other and just having a good time. My #1 goal on engagement shoots is to take off the weight of  the shoot feeling like its a “photo shoot”  and make the shoot feel more like a date. I love seeing a couples personality! I cannot wait to capture their big day! Congrats guys. Check out their story below. Enjoy!

How we met

I met John when he walked into my job to conduct business. At that point in my life, I was not very interested in getting into a relationship but for some reason when I saw him, I made an extra effort to help him even though as a manager, I had other associates that could help him.
While conducting the business he came for, he asked me where I was from and I told him. He proceeded to tell me that he was also Nigerian. I smiled in disbelief and said “yeah right”, shrugging off the joke. He kept a straight face and said no really, then I asked to see his drivers license and after carefully reviewing it, I determined he was lying.
He explained further to me and I finally believed that he may be telling the truth. After the exchange, he boldly asked for my number. Before I could say no, I found myself writing down my number. In my mind, I was only giving him my information so I could expose him to a beautiful side of himself and a culture that he did not know (as most Nigerian’s do)
The very next day, he texted “Good morning” and I responded dryly since I was not really interested. Clearly I had been overly spontaneous the previous day and now have to deal with this stranger. Anyone that knows me well, knows I’m not really interested in getting to know new people (#nonewfriends…lol). For the next few weeks he continued to text me every morning and we managed to have a couple of short conversations.
It was his birthday at the end of the month and he had invited me to his birthday party that was being held at a lounge. I decided to go with a friend after he asked for the umpteenth time. I remember not really joining him where all his friends were, but we shared a dance that was simply put… magnetic. It was then that I started to feel something different. It was almost like we were communicating in silence, and everything felt safe and familiar.
Shortly thereafter, I travelled across the world and he called me everyday. I started to look forward to his voice, laughter and humor and before you know it, I was in love with him.
After a few weeks, months and year, the rest as they say is history as we take the next step into our journey of forever.

Proposal

Honestly, a few months into our relationship, I knew Adeola was THE ONE. She was the smartest, most intelligent, beautiful, kind hearted person I’ve met. Believe it or not, I picked out her ring about this time but it did take a few more months for me to ask her “The Question”. There has never been any doubt in my mind but she had always mentioned that she wanted to wait till a certain amount of time to consider taking the next step, so I anxiously waited.
Now anyone that knows Adeola, knows that she is a very smart and resourceful woman just like I mentioned earlier. So popping the question was a very hard task to keep secret. In March of 2015, I got a chance to meet her mom when she visited Atlanta. I had a very great conversation with her mom and made my intentions known to her. I got her blessings along with that of the rest of her family.
The next Saturday after receiving the family’s blessing, I set the plan in motion knowing I had to plan intimate proposal like she always wanted. Ady had gone to work and I knew this would be the perfect time to go undetected. I honestly had a few errands to run and was racing to get home before she got back from work. I had picked up some rose petals, candles and wine and I also made sure to get the ring cleaned and shiny.
Luckily I made it back home in time and I put rose petals from the bottom of the stairs all the way upstairs and into the bedroom. I also made a heart shape with the rose petals with the ring in the middle. Once she got home, she was looking for me and I told her to come upstairs. As she walked up the stairs, I could hear her smile and laughter which made me a little bit at ease knowing that today will be the day that I would get the woman of my dreams to take the journey to eternity with me by saying “Yes”. I am so excited that she said “yes”.

Peggi + John Intimate Courthouse Wedding

February 15, 2016 | Weddings | 3 Comments

Old Decatur Courthouse Wedding

Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day! I have an intimate wedding to share today. When Peggi & John first contacted me and explained what they were looking for i knew this day was extremely important to both of them. They wanted something simple but enough to show how much they love each other. From speaking to them over the phone it was very obvious they were seriously in love. I truly enjoyed these two. I really enjoyed their playful side and how comfortable they were infront of the lens. Its a true blessing to find love regardless of age. Peggi & John have definitely proven that! Congrats to this amazing, fun and loving couple! I wish you both the very best 🙂

How it all started!

Peggi and I met in June while she was visiting family in Wyoming. I was working in Atlanta and unable to be with her. In that time, we got to know each other via frequent and lengthy cell phone conversations. A budding romance soon developed and we found ourselves making future life plans together. Peggi and I had so much in common and were very compatible. Our relationship was very comfortable and we “fit” like two pieces of a puzzle. After a short eternity, Peggi returned to Atlanta where I met her at the Airport. The moment our eyes met, my fate was sealed. I had finally met the love of my life. We embraced and for a few moments were alone in our own world. We were just meeting but we both knew we would never be separated again. Peggi and I were married on January 15th at the Dekalb County Courthouse. Life IS good!
