Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by. Excited to share Kristen and Tristin’s EPIC engagement shoot today. From the very first time we chatted i knew they were special. They wanted their engagement shoot to reflect their personalities. They are stylish, fun and romantic. I love how we incorporated all elements into their shoot. We started out at the Anderson House in DC, then the DC City center and we ended the shoot in Annapolis. Check out Kristen and Tristin’s story and pictures below. Enjoy!!
How did you meet?
On October 27, 2013, I was heading to a lounge to meet up with some friends. I had just parked my car and was checking my makeup in the mirror when all of a sudden the exact same car as mine pulls up next to me and abruptly stops. I turned to the car to see what they wanted and it was Tristin looking for a parking space. I thought, “Ooo he’s cute.” He rolled down the window and said, “Hey are you leaving?” I shook my head and he drove off. However I noticed that he was parking just a block in front of me. So I thought, “Take your time getting out the car so you can speak to him!” As he was walking up, I got out and we started a conversation. I asked him his name and he said, “I’m Tristin and you.” I replied, “You’re kidding, my name is Kristen!” He responded, “O really?” We both laugh. Then he asked, “Where are you headed?” I said, “I’m headed to Lima Lounge to meet up with some friends” He responded, “O really, so am I!” We walk into the lounge together and I find my friends so we part ways. I later made my way to the bar where he was standing alone “waiting for his friends”. Mind you I NEVER saw these friends. So we strike up a conversation again as we watched the Redskins game. At the conclusion of the game, he asked me if he could walk me to my car, to which I obliged. I instantly knew something was different about him and he would be my next boyfriend. He asked me for my number and the rest has been the most amazing journey
Our love is special because we choose each other daily. We are committed to each other despite the ups and downs, and choose to make each other a priority. We really enjoy laughing with each other and experiencing life together through travel, food, and culture. With each other, life is worth living to it’s fullest extent.

Last year there were several engagement shoots i was unable to share on my blog. I will dedicate the first couple of weeks in January to sharing many of these shoot. I realize they can be a source of inspiration for many couples that are planning their engagement shoots or that are recently engaged.
To start off i would like to share Olumide and Bidemi’s EPIC havana, Cuba Shoot! This was such an amazing experience. We had so much fun that we had to do it again the next day! We shot at a historic park , La Guarida, Havana Cathedral, Santa María, Ciudad De La Habana, Old Havana and wrapped up the shoot Cuba beach! What an amazing 2 day experience! I love shooting destination engagement shoots because of the limitless opportunities to create wonderful imagery. How they met:
During a casual conversation, my mom told me about a guy that one of her friends wanted me to meet, and of course I was totally done with the idea of hookups. That just wasn’t my thing anymore. Eventually, I decided to be “open minded” with the intention to brush him off whenever he called. You know one of those moves you pull when you don’t want your mom to think you don’t take your love life seriously so you just kinda go with the flow? Yeah. So I nonchalantly agreed to pass on my number to him. Her friend forwarded my number to him and let me tell you, he wasted no time calling me. First couple of conversations was quite basic. It flowed but still basic. He definitely caught my attention when he screenshot me tickets to a basketball game and dinner reservations as a first date invitation, his initiative was very attractive. Then I actually started liking this guy! Like I couldn’t believe I was feeling the “hook up!” The chemistry became evident and the rest goes in the history books!
Surprise Proposal:
Fast forward to the proposal, I coordinated a dinner party with our friends and family for his birthday. So as people are arriving we’re mingling and having a good time. One of my blogger BFFs had always raved about this nail line that she promotes. She’d been telling me that she would give me a set the next time she sees me, so she brought them along to dinner. On the other hand I’m a florist, so it’s no surprise that my nails weren’t manicured to perfection. So she’s like “oh I have the new nail art kit, let me do your nails before we forget again.” Mind you, the nail kit literally takes like 2 minutes, and my friend is really into them, so the idea wasn’t alarming at all! We’re girls; we do random things all the time!
So we’re all catching up, dinner is over and it’s almost dessert time. He excuses himself and heads for a restroom break. He comes back holding a cake and a dozen roses with sparklers on the cake. So here I am so confused and asking a bunch of questions; “Why is he holding the cake? That’s not even the cake I ordered. Did the server give him the wrong cake? The server is supposed to bring the cake out! Why is HE carrying it? And it’s the wrong cake!” I was completely confused. Meanwhile, my friends and family are standing around the table with their phone flashing, no one is saying anything, and they were just smirking giving me that playful “I don’t know” look and singing “happy birthday” which really had me confused. I’m a planner so I don’t like when I plan gatherings and they’re not going as planned. I was still trying to figure out why he was carrying the wrong cake! And then he gets on one knee, and the cake reads “Will You Marry Me?” with a ring in his hand. I was shocked! To the MAX! I could not believe it! I. WAS. IN.TOTAL. DISBELIEF! It was a true surprise as his birthday dinner turned into our engagement night. And just in case you were wondering. We did eventually find and eat the birthday cake I ordered him!
Engagement session Experience:
Our engagement shoot was fun and colorful. We wanted to incorporate our personal lives into our shoot, so since we both enjoy traveling, we decided to go on vacation and execute our engagement shoot while we were on vacation. On a relaxing evening, while playing our favorite board game called Ludo, we had agreed that the winner of the game would pick the destination of our vacation and engagement shoot; which of course I won (the bride) … so here we come Havana, Cuba! Ludo is a board game we are both very fond of, so we incorporated it into our shoot by personalizing our pictures and our save the date on it. We also incorporated our personal lives into our shoot by adding a bicycle riding scene into the shoot. Abidemi actually taught me how to ride a bike and it was such a great experience we both cherished because it was something I have always wanted to learn how to do. Our photographer, Fotos by Fola, was very helpful in our engagement shoot process. We chatted and bounced ideas off of each other and upon his arrival to Cuba, we finalized all the ideas and shot the next day. Our shoot was fun, playful and it definitely showcases the dynamics of our relationship. We play, we chill, and we absolutely love to get all dressed up.
Hello there! I am so happy to share Sara and Kennie’s Engagement Shoot. I remember chatting with Sara and her telling me she would love to do her shoot in New York! I was super excited about the opportunity to shoot in the Big Apple. We shot all over the city from Manhattan to Dumbo, to the meat packing district to Brooklyn bridge to Buka resturant to Gantry Plaza park … the list goes on. I really love the city vibe in New York and can’t wait to shoot there again. Sara and Kennie are such a fun couple. We shared so many laughs together and it felt i had known them both for years. Sara is from Jamaica and Kennie is from Nigeria. Looking forward to this amazing fusion wedding! Check out some images from the shoot. Enjoy!
Hello! Thank you so much for dropping by. Today, i am sharing Sherell and Elijah’s amazing Houston Texas engagement shoot. Sherell and Elijah wanted a shoot that showed their style and love. I definitely think we were able to accomplish that. From the enchanting mansion to the Cullen Sculpture Garden to the beautiful Rice University campus, the shoot was simply amazing from start to finish. Our proposal is probably one of the best days of my life. It was Christmas evening of 2015 and I was home in Mississippi for the holiday. My two best friends, parents, and niece were all at home enjoying ourselves like normal. Well I was upset with Elijah because he was suppose to be coming to my house from Alabama to visit me but told me earlier that day that he wasn’t going to make it. Well I was all in the Christmas sprit and enjoying my family. I remember everything happening so fast. My niece brought me a box that was wrapped so pretty and she told me it was for me. I remember saying wow I got another gift. So I opened it and it was a note inside that said “Guess whos getting married??” I still didn’t get it. I remember saying who is this for. And before I knew it one of my favorite songs by Charlie Wilson “You Are” was playing in the back ground. The garage door was going up and Elijah was standing in my parents living room. I remember screaming.. “What are you doing here”. Everyone was screaming and clapping. He didn’t answer but got down on one knee and had the most serious look on his face. He talked about how it was time for me to see just how serious he was and how he was ready to spend the rest of his life with me. I screamed so loud when he opened the box and I saw my ring. Apparently he, my sister, and best friend Miracle planned everything and everybody knew. Even my parents were in on it. It was really exactly the way I had always dreamed and couldn’t have asked for it to happen any better.
Hello!! Thank you for visiting the blog. Excited to share Ty and Duran’s Bahamas engagement session today! I enjoyed this shoot just as much as the couple did. We shot all around the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort for their formal look and also had the opportunity to shoot at the Atlantis beach for their casual look. I had a blast with this fun and laid back couple. I truly love the vibe, atmosphere and people in Bahamas. I can’t wait to go back soon. Check out their story and images below. Enjoy!

How they met:
Well, we met as classmates at the University of The Bahamas. At that time we really did not take notice of one another. We just hailed in passing or briefly spoke in class that was about it. I always knew Duran as the quiet slim guy in class. I don’t know what his perceptions were about me at the time. We lost contact with one another for several years but one day he sent me a friends request on Facebook.
Shortly after he sent me a message reminding me of who he was and asked if we could hang out one day. At first I didn’t really paid it any attention. But one day I needed a ride to my rehearsal for Miss Bahamas and I couldn’t think of anyone but then i remembered him lol. So I sent him a message asking if he would please do me the favor of dropping me to my rehearsal. He was there with no complaints. After that we became good friends for maybe over a year. Later he expressed to me that he was interested in a relationship with me at first I was apprehensive but after months of thinking I finally decided to give it a shot.
Hello friends!!!!! First of all i would like to apologize for being MIA on the blog 🙁 . It has been insanely busy but its still not a valid excuse to stop blogging. I promise to keep them coming going forward 🙂 . To get back on track i am sharing Chisom and Izu’s AH-Mazing multi-city Engagement Shoot! This was a one of a kind engagement shoot. Chisom and Izu might have enjoyed the shoot the most but i really enjoyed the road trip. I got to know them more personally. We talked, laughed, jammed to music..lol. It was great. Then the shoot! The locations Chisom picked were nothing short of amazing. We started off at the Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah which was enchanting and beautiful. After a quick mini shoot we headed to downtown Savannah to casually hang out on River Street. Up next was the Old Sheldon Church Ruins in Yemassee South Carolina. This location was the perfect backdrop for their classic look. We truly had a great time and i can’t wait till their big day in July! Check out some images from the day. Enjoy!
