Kara & Brian Engagement Session | Carter Center | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Kara & Brian are getting married next year so they got a great head start by getting their e-session done this year. I really loved this e-session because it took absolutely zero minutes for Kara & Brian to get comfortable. Usually with many clients i have to work my magic to get them to feel free. I believe a fun couple = fun wedding. Although the wedding is not until 2012 i am really looking forward to it. The session took place at the beautiful Carter Center. Thank you Lindsey Ciener for allowing us to use this location. Very Appreciated! (Future brides make sure you check out this amazing place). Check out the pics below and a little about Kara & Brian. The story of Kara and Brian

Brian and Kara met the summer of 2004 in Statesboro, GA. It was a hot summer so there wasn’t much to do but attend summer school, eat, sleep, and go out after the sun went down. Kara had returned to Statesboro after the first term of summer classes to pack her things in her apartment and catch up with a few friends. It was towards the end of the summer and a new student meet and greet was being held on campus. It was tradition for all active student organizations to participate in this event to welcome the incoming freshman into the university. The night of the meet and greet, the Student Recreation Center (affectionately known as the RAC) was packed with people. After a round of volleyball on the court, Kara and her line sister Janine decided to watch from the sidelines. Janine and Kara went to the nearest bench where, Kara had laid her student id and sat down. When Kara went to grab her student id, she noticed the id was that of Brian Kennebrew. She commented, “Oh, he’s cute.” Janine said, “He’s right there and pointed.” Kara glanced back, nodded in approval and thought nothing more of it. The next day, there was a small gathering at a local bar named Baja Burrito. That night, Kara was with a group of friends and sorority sisters having a good time. She noticed Brian walking towards her and her friends from across the room. Kara pretended to ignore him until Janine tapped her on the shoulders and introduced Brian. Brian and Kara made small talk throughout the night and got to know each other. At the end of the night, they exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history. They have been inseparable ever since.

Facts about Kara:

-Loves to help others

-Loves a good laugh

-A dog lover

-A lover of the arts

-Usually falls asleep on movies

-From time to time ruins a good joke 🙂

Facts about Brian:

-He’s a jokester

-Extremely knowledgeable about weather and storm systems

-He was a dancer in another life

-He’s a charmer

-He has a great sense of humor

-He can run really fast (not really he had knee surgery on both knees)

Facts about Brian and Kara:

-They enjoy a good laugh

-They finish each others sentence

-They both wore braces at one point in their lives

-They are both athletic

-Family is very important to them

For this session we took a trip down south to the beautiful & Scenic Callaway Gardens. Aimee wanted a laid back, relaxed and fun session so this was just the right place. They brought along their favorite board game called Ludo and competed like there was money on the line..Just kidding 🙂 . We had such a great time and i enjoyed capturing their fun & loving relationship. Check out a few images from the day. Enjoy!

The story of LeVar and Salethia’s relationship is a classic example of “if it’s meant to be”. Destiny brought them together after several years on their separate paths. At the end, they not only found each other but found true love. I had a wonderful time documenting the strong love between both of them. We started out at Inman Middle school where they first met then we went down to Piedmont Park for some more shots. Congrats guys.. I am really looking forward to your wedding! Below is short story on how they met. I also included the proposal story (a good one!) further down so make sure you read that as well. Enjoy!

HOW WE MET

Salethia and I went to Inman Middle School together, and though we knew of each other, we didn’t really know one another. Fast forward 13 years, in the winter of 2009 and I’m browsing on facebook and I happen to run across her profile. Of course she looked gorgeous so I sent her a friend request and a message saying hello. She replied back and I mentioned we should get together and she left me her number but I never called. Then in the spring, we had an Inman Class of ’96 reunion at the Spaghett Factory and I saw her again! We both played it cool and went our separate ways. And still nothing happened until that summer, when I finally called her and set up our first date on June 19th. We went to Two Urban Licks for dinner and saw “The Hangover”. I think at that point with our silly personalities, we realized that we may have stumbled on to something great! Two years later we’re engaged and tying the knot on October 1. As we sit back and look at our relationship, we wonder, “Who knew??”. And I think we both understand that only GOD did!!!

LeVar is a Videographer for a local news station in Atlanta. So he brought his big equipment to record some scenes of where he met his future wife.

THE PROPOSAL

I went with Salethia and her family on a weekend trip to Orlando. Her mom and brother already knew I planned to propose but of course, she didn’t. After we spent the day at Universal Studios, we came back to the hotel and I was able to take her away for a few hours. Initially I had made dinner reservations at a restaurant downtown. But we got back so late, and we promised to take her daughter Jayla to Magic Kingdom. So we ended up at Lake Eola and walked around their beautiful park. I then proceeded to recite a poem that I wrote to her on Valentines Day title, “There’s no you without no me.” After the poem I let her know how much she meant to me, got down on one knee and asked if she would do me the honor of being my wife?? After several minutes of excitement, smiling, and crying, she still hadn’t said yes and I was still on one knee, and I told her, “You know, you still have to say yes,” and she did!!!

It was a beautiful sunny day in Atlanta and a great day for a shoot. We had planned to do this session earlier but because of consistent bad weather we had to reschedule a few times. I was glad to finally get the chance to hang with Cherdon & Greg at the beautiful Historic Fourth Ward Park Atlanta. We had a great time and it was a good opportunity for them to get camera ready since their wedding is in a few weeks. Looking forward to their big day because i know its going to be a blast. Below are a few images from the day and off course the story of how it all started..cute & funny story lol. Enjoy!

We meet March 20th 2006. It was a blind date. My sister had a friend that knew a guy that was single and looking. I was single but my sister was always doing the looking for me:-)…what can I say I loved being single. Anyway, she called me with this guys number and said that I had to call him because she had already told him I would. Lord knows I didn’t want to but I did and got his country, non english speaking voicemail. OMG please don’t let this guy call back because he sounded like he had big gold teeth and short dirty dreadlocks.
When he called back I did not want to answer but I did so I could tell my sister I spoke to him and she would get off my back about it. That day we talked on the phone for 4 hours…thank God for Metro PCS. We had a great conversation to say the least. We talked everyday until we got a chance to meet and it was love at first site for him….LMBO. He was quiet but cute, short but sexy and knew how and when to check me and still letting me be me. 4 years later we have a handsome 1 year old son and a beautiful relationship. We look like night and day but we are made for each other!

Angela & Patrick Engagement Session | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

When Angela first contacted me she was really specific about how she wanted her engagement session to be like. I simply told her “be yourself” and it would be great. After we were done with the session i knew that was accomplished because they literally interacted like it was any other day. Angela and Patrick are two down to earth people that just like to have a good time. We basically hung out during the session and i honestly had a great time with both of them. The session took place at Lenox Park Atlanta. Want to thank Fred & Wunmi of F & W Style for revealing this beautiful secret location. Much appreciated guys!

Below is a short story on how Angela & Patrick met as well as my faves from the session. Enjoy.

Angela and Patrick met through Patrick’s sister, Joi (who was also Angela’s college roommate), while Angela was visiting the Atlanta area for a weekend trip. Although the initial encounter was a simple, informal greeting of “Hello, I am___, nice to meet you,” Angela had no idea that Patrick had later asked Joi about her. Later that same night at the dance party, Angela and Patrick engaged in conversation and even shared a dance. Sparks started to fly after Patrick attended the graduation of Angela and Joi at Georgia Southern University. After more conversation, Angela and Patrick insisted that they would become friends once Angela moved to Atlanta. While in Atlanta on a job interview before the move, Angela called Patrick and invited him to a lunch date. He accepted and they became best friends from there! A few months later, those sparks turned into fireworks! Patrick told Angela it was “time to take her off the open market” and now, they are engaged and ready for a rockin’ marriage ahead! They will wed in beautiful Savannah, Georgia in July 2011!

Kali & Jamal | Stone Mountain Park

Rolly+Ademola Engaged|Gallaria Gardens

Rolly and Ademola are such a lively couple. The chemistry between both of them was great and all I really had to do was capture it. I am really looking forward to their wedding and I know it will be fun. The shoot took place at the beautiful Galleria Gardens. Below is a short story on how the couple met. Also check out a few of my favs from the day.

We were match-made by a mutual friend of ours, Debola. But before being match-made, we had briefly seen each other at Debola’s older brother’s baby shower. I was fronting as usual and so was he, lol. Just kidding! I actually made a fool of myself that day because I snatched his pencil from him during one of those baby shower games, and he shot me the dirtiest look ever. When I noticed that, I peacefully gave his pencil back. About a week later, Debola called me and started his match-making tricks (See the hand of God in all this?). He called me, then we started talking every night. We started dating seriously a month later and God’s brought us this far.

Tracy & Tisa Engaged | Atlantic Station

Tracy saw my work through another client i had worked with in the past and was excited about getting engagement session pictures done. He really wanted the session to reflect the nature of their relationship and by the time we were through i knew we had done just that. I really had a great time with Tracy and Tisa because they were soo relaxed the entire time and were just themselves. Tracy and Tisa are getting married later this year. Congrats guys and wish you a happy married life!

Lorretta & James E-Session

I did an E-session for Lorretta & James recently and came to the conclusion that no matter how long it takes you can still find true love and Happiness. Both Lorretta and James already had families of their own but somehow they were able to find each other. During the session it was really evident that they were meant for each other. Congrats guys and looking forward to the wedding in July! Below is a short story on how they met and a few of shots from the session.

During Thanksgiving season of 2008 James was shopping and planning the meal with his daughter and family. James said a prayer and asked for a partner in his life to share future holidays with moving forward. I happened to have log on to an on line dating site for only the third time to look around and THERE HE WAS! His NEW profile was sweet, endearing and heartfelt. I could tell he was a great man from the brief description. We met the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and went on our first date the Friday after. Our FIRST date was actually an all day event. Starting with a workout at the gym, lunch, museum and then out for live blues. It was unforgettable and sparked our love for each other as the days and months past. James and I both have busy schedules, careers, kids and family but we always find time to connect with each other for those special moments that will last forever.
