Hello Everyone! Ashley and Phillip are on the blog today! Ashley was a bridesmaid at wedding I shot in Savannah a few years ago (Angela & Patrick‘s Wedding – Thanks guys 🙂 ). I remember Ashley vividly because she actually told me that when she finds that “special” guy (Phillip actually found her..lol) ) she would love for me to shoot her wedding. We laughed about it but that conversation was imprinted in my mind.  Years later she reached out to me about being engaged!  I was very happy for her and even happier when she asked me to shoot her wedding! I love when my new clients come directly from old clients. It is definitely a huge blessing. For the shoot Ashley and Phillip wanted a traditional, fun and modern feel. So we came up with a bunch of sites/looks that would fit that profile. The results were great and we all had an amazing time. I am a big believer that E-sessions should showcase the couple in their true element and this shoot was no exception. I can’t wait to be a part of Ashley and Phillip’s wedding in a few months. Congrats guys! The shoot took place at the Atlanta History Center and Atlantic Station. Check out the story and how it all started below. Enjoy!

Phillip and Ashley met at a local Atlanta restaurant while out with friends for lunch. Ashley and her friends had just left a bridal appointment in the area helping a friend shop for the perfect wedding dress. The girls were hungry and decided to stop by El Aztec for a bite to eat afterwards. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo and Phillip and his friends were at the same restaurant celebrating the holiday.
Shortly after their arrival Phillip noticed Ashley walk in with her group of friends. He watched her for some time, waiting for his opportunity to say hello. After the girls ordered their food , they decided to hit the dance floor. If you know Ashley at all, you know she was more than happy to stay behind and hold the table. Seeing that Ashley was all alone Phillip walked over, sat down, and introduced himself. The two hit it off instantly and talked for over an hour at the table. As she was preparing to leave the two exchanged numbers.
They kept in touch over the next few weeks and Phillip eventually invited Ashley over for a Memorial Day cookout. After agreeing to come, Ashley began to have second thoughts about this “stranger” she had met and bailed on the cookout. Communication between the two dwindled down and they both went their respective ways.
Fast forward a year later. Cinco de Mayo was quickly approaching bringing thoughts of Ashley back to the forefront of Phillip’s mind. On a whim, he decided to reach out to her. The two met for a first date at Strip in Atlantic Station the very next day after church. Despite a whole year having passed, the two picked right back up where they had left off…sitting and talking for over four hours!! Within a month they began dating exclusively and the rest was history!!

Hello Folks! I have a great surprise proposal to share today. Usually I start off by explaining the proposal plan and the entire process but today I will do the complete opposite. I will break down the proposal at the bottom of the post after you are done viewing the pictures. I want you to get an idea of how it went from your own perspective. Enjoy!

Now the story..lol 🙂

Anand reached out to me about his plan to propose a few weeks before the date so we had time to plot every aspect of the plan to perfection. I have done many proposals in the past but this one was definitely one of a kind! The plan was for the proposal to happen while Freny was on a Fox theatre tour. Anand and Freny went to a show at the Fox theatre the day before the proposal and he told her they won tickets to go on a tour of the Fox the next day. He later backed out claiming he had to work 🙂 . Anand had Freny’s close friend fill in for him so the plan was all set 🙂 . We realized it was going to be difficult to take pictures of her without her getting suspicious so we came up with a plan that I would be the staff photographer for the fox theatre. This gave me the freedom to take pictures of random people on the group tour but I obviously focused on Freny. It worked out perfectly! Anand had a second surprise. He invited close friends and family and had them all wait at the restaurant across the street (Livingston @ The Georgian Terrace Hotel). When we were done taking pictures Freny thought it was all over and I left as well. A few minutes later Anand walked her into the restaurant and she was shocked to see all the familiar faces! This was definitely one of my favorite surprise proposals and so glad I was part of it! Congrats to Anand and Freny. I wish you both the very best!

Hello Friends! Happy hump day :). Today, I am extremely excited to share the E- session pictures of a really good and long time friend Busola AKA Tidy-up Gal. I’ve known Busola for over a decade (12 years to be exact) and when I look back at many memories in my life over the years I realize she was always there. I remember how we all used to party together (WE-3-ENT days for those that remember) and now we are all grown. She is truly a great friend and I am so happy she found that “REAL LOVE”..LOL haha. I met Lanre a few years ago at a friends house and he seemed like a really cool guy. He was funny and down to earth. Who knew he would fall in love with my friend! Busola and Lanre met at a local Starbucks for their first date so we incorporated that into the shoot and had a blast in the process. We also hit up the Fox theatre for some grown and sexy shots. The love they share for each other was too obvious. I really enjoyed this shoot. I wish you both a blessed and happy married life. Enjoy!

New Year’s Eve 2012 was different than usual for both Lanre and Busola as they met at a local Starbucks for their first date. In fact, the meeting was almost two years overdue – Yewande, Lanre’s family friend (and also Busola’s friend), tried to introduce them way before they finally met. But perfect timing, they say, is one of God’s greatest gifts. They hit it off right away as predicted; and almost a year after that special New Year’s Eve, Lanre popped the big question at Busola’s favorite Thai restaurant. They plan to tie the knot on June 14 2014, and are looking forward to a bright future together.

“I have found the one whom my soul loves.”

TGIF! Juliet and Bankole are on the blog today 🙂 ! Juliet is actually the sister of a past client Lauret Odesanya (Check out that wedding here). She was a bridesmaid on that wedding and now it’s her turn to have her own bridesmaids! I was extremely excited when she contacted me about her upcoming wedding. I know it’s going to be a really good one. We had a great time on this e-session. While it was literally freezing on the day of the shoot, Bankole kept Juliet warm all session long..lol. Really looking forward to the wedding. Check out the short love story from Bankole. Enjoy!

Juliet played the toughest game of hard to get ever! After years of ignoring my advances, one Friday evening after a month-long fast at our church, she finally came to hold a conversation with me. I was shocked but cautiously optimistic. Although I was excited that she finally seemed to be expressing interest; I suspected that fasting for a month was simply causing her to hallucinate… But hey, I was willing to take any opening I could get!

All jokes aside, I do believe that our relationship had more to do with God’s timing than anything. We’d known of each other for a few years and only spoke in passing. I’d always thought there was an exotic beauty about Juliet, and she caught my eye each Sunday at church; however it was the way she carried herself that truly intrigued me.

Month’s before we started hanging out, I’d prayed for a wife like Rebekah. I’d always admired the way Rebekah opened her heart and her home without any hesitation. Anyone who knows Juliet knows her unbridled sweetness and willingness to help whenever needed. It didn’t take long for me to see Juliet as an answered prayer… I fell for her fast. Very quickly, Juliet became someone that I wanted to spend all of my time with.

I’d love to claim the excitement was mutual, but the truth is that Juliet seemed to take time to warm up to me. Considering that our personalities are a complete contrast of one another, it’s a wonder that we grew as close as we did. After 3-4 years of chasing, I must have worn her down because she was finally ready to settle down! At the point our relationship really matured, we both became pillars of support for the other as we tackled some of the more challenging moments in our lives. Along the way, she became my best friend and my closest confidant. I have never been one to open up easily, but whenever there was a moment to share in my life, good or bad, Juliet was the one that I wanted to share it with. I’d known very early on that she was the one I’d like to spend the rest of my life with. As the years went on, it became clearer that I could not imagine my life without her in it. On June 14, I look forward to making my life a permanent part of hers.

Hello friends (and blog stalkers lol..i kid..i kid). One cool thing about being a photographer is you get to take pictures of not only clients you’ve never met before but of friends and family. Dotun is family and i could not be happier to be his photographer.  When he got engaged he was pretty sure he wanted to use me and honestly i figured if i did not shoot the wedding i would be a guest and its a Win-Win regardless. I still plan on having fun but will just have to do that while taking pictures :). This e-session was super fun. Dotun is a big time Frat (Kappa) and Oyin is a repping Soror (Delta) so we incorporated that element into the shoot. They both love going to the movies so we hit up the  Plaza Theatre (Oldest in Atlanta!). We rounded up with a sophisticated look at the Fernbank Museum. Saying it was fun would be a huge understatement. I can’t wait for the big day. Congrats Dotun & Oyin on your engagement!! Check out the story on how they met and the proposal story. Enjoy!

How they met! (Interview by Mide Events)
How did you meet?
Dotun: LOL, well you know me, a young, suave, and handsome brother with a lot of personality. I just drew her in. She was mine the moment I gave her that sexy stare, from a distance, with a little ” LL cool J lip-licking action.”
Oyin: Umm Excuse me please. Ok? Let me answer this one because you know guys tend to mix it all up. Chai! Dotun and I have actually grown together from our adolescent years and attended college together as well. However, our first encounter started in summer of 2003 during an Eko Club Atlanta conference at the Hilton Hotel; I was 15, going into the 10th grade. I was on crutches from an injury I’d acquired while running track, dreading the fact that I had to be there. Then I saw this guy with a big shiny forehead walking towards me with his blue jean outfit on and flashing all 32s. He came to me and sat next to me as if I had extended an invitation. He started making small talk and out of nowhere, says to me “I love you! Will you marry me?” LOL…just kidding….. but really he was sweating me though .
Dotun: Habaaa!! This girl!!! She knows how to sprinkle salt and pepper on a story man. Jesu!
Oyin: Anyways, he asked me if he could have my number and I replied, wide eyed “Ha! Nooooo my father will kill me- boys can’t call my house!” But being his clever self which is one of the things I still love about him today, he replied to me “Well what if I just call your house and let the phone ring one time and hang up, you will know it’s me and you can call me back. Just like that he convinced me and that’s how our system and ultimately, our love story started together.

The Proposal!
First let me just say Dotun knows me very well. He knows that I am analytical and I can sense when something is up. Therefore, he didn’t dare try to orchestrate something big with my friends and family because I would have simply ruined it with my inquisitive nature. Shame on me huh?? “Amebo” tinz….Anyways, so on a regular Friday he casually called me to meet him for lunch at the St. Regis hotel. We ate lunch and had a few drinks. Since we drove separate cars, we trailed each other as we talked and flirted on the phone on the way back to his place. Upon arrival at his home, we were having a conversation across the apartment, as I was in the kitchen and he was in his room. My back was turned. When he came into the kitchen, I simultaneously turned around to carry on our conversation and found him descending to his knees. Then I saw this NICE rock in his trembling hands as his eyes seemed to be piercing so deeply through me that I almost descended to my knees to keep from falling. But instead, I ran away jumping and screaming in excitement around the apartment! So to say the least, the proposal was highly unexpected, exceptionally spontaneous and blissfully private and I loved every moment of it. The more we grow as an engaged couple, the more I appreciate his sentimental method of proposal. I’m a lucky gal!

Hello! Thanks for Swinging by. I have an awesome Engagement session to share featuring Demi and Ife. I love E-sessions because its a great ice breaker. On this shoot it was all fun from the start. It’s very obvious Demi & Ife are not only in love but really good friends. Demi is an Emory Alumni  and the couple also first met at a University (Story below). Having the shoot at a university made perfect sense :).  I had so much fun on this shoot and truly can’t wait for the wedding. Check out their story below and some images from the day. Enjoy!

We met on a beautiful warm summer’s eve on the sandy shores in a remote beach on an island far, far away, watching the waves as they fell and rose in rhythmic cadence…well, not quite, lol…
We first met in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in a classroom where Demi and her colleagues were preparing for her finals. I was definitely not spying on her again but let’s just say it was not my first time seeing her there. A very good and mutual friend helped setup the first formal meeting in her dorm room. I came dressed to impress on that special day, stepped into her room with a rehearsed confidence and the rest is history.
Demi is my best friend and has been a pillar of support, which makes life very fulfilling. We enjoy travelling together, watching television series back to back to back and just sitting around doing nothing but enjoying each other’s company. It’s been nothing short of a blessing to have spent the past 8 years with my best friend and confidant, whom I cherish and admire deeply.  Demi is the love of my life; strong, intelligent, God fearing lady and I am extremely proud of her and looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
