Hello Everyone! Ashley and Phillip are on the blog today! Ashley was a bridesmaid at wedding I shot in Savannah a few years ago (Angela & Patrick‘s Wedding – Thanks guys 🙂 ). I remember Ashley vividly because she actually told me that when she finds that “special” guy (Phillip actually found her..lol) ) she would love for me to shoot her wedding. We laughed about it but that conversation was imprinted in my mind. Years later she reached out to me about being engaged! I was very happy for her and even happier when she asked me to shoot her wedding! I love when my new clients come directly from old clients. It is definitely a huge blessing. For the shoot Ashley and Phillip wanted a traditional, fun and modern feel. So we came up with a bunch of sites/looks that would fit that profile. The results were great and we all had an amazing time. I am a big believer that E-sessions should showcase the couple in their true element and this shoot was no exception. I can’t wait to be a part of Ashley and Phillip’s wedding in a few months. Congrats guys! The shoot took place at the Atlanta History Center and Atlantic Station. Check out the story and how it all started below. Enjoy!
Phillip and Ashley met at a local Atlanta restaurant while out with friends for lunch. Ashley and her friends had just left a bridal appointment in the area helping a friend shop for the perfect wedding dress. The girls were hungry and decided to stop by El Aztec for a bite to eat afterwards. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo and Phillip and his friends were at the same restaurant celebrating the holiday.
Shortly after their arrival Phillip noticed Ashley walk in with her group of friends. He watched her for some time, waiting for his opportunity to say hello. After the girls ordered their food , they decided to hit the dance floor. If you know Ashley at all, you know she was more than happy to stay behind and hold the table. Seeing that Ashley was all alone Phillip walked over, sat down, and introduced himself. The two hit it off instantly and talked for over an hour at the table. As she was preparing to leave the two exchanged numbers.
They kept in touch over the next few weeks and Phillip eventually invited Ashley over for a Memorial Day cookout. After agreeing to come, Ashley began to have second thoughts about this “stranger” she had met and bailed on the cookout. Communication between the two dwindled down and they both went their respective ways.
Fast forward a year later. Cinco de Mayo was quickly approaching bringing thoughts of Ashley back to the forefront of Phillip’s mind. On a whim, he decided to reach out to her. The two met for a first date at Strip in Atlantic Station the very next day after church. Despite a whole year having passed, the two picked right back up where they had left off…sitting and talking for over four hours!! Within a month they began dating exclusively and the rest was history!!

TGIF! I love all weddings. Big or small it simply does not matter. However, there is something about shooting a small wedding that is quite refreshing. The focus is mainly on the couple and the love they have for each other. Emerald and Rajash had an intimate ceremony with a few friends/family to witness. It was all about love on this one. I enjoyed every second of it. The ceremony took place at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in the Japanese Garden. Check out some images from the day!

April 25, 2014 | Engagement Sessions, showcase, Surprise Proposals | 2 Comments
Hello Folks! I have a great surprise proposal to share today. Usually I start off by explaining the proposal plan and the entire process but today I will do the complete opposite. I will break down the proposal at the bottom of the post after you are done viewing the pictures. I want you to get an idea of how it went from your own perspective. Enjoy!

Now the story..lol 🙂
Anand reached out to me about his plan to propose a few weeks before the date so we had time to plot every aspect of the plan to perfection. I have done many proposals in the past but this one was definitely one of a kind! The plan was for the proposal to happen while Freny was on a Fox theatre tour. Anand and Freny went to a show at the Fox theatre the day before the proposal and he told her they won tickets to go on a tour of the Fox the next day. He later backed out claiming he had to work 🙂 . Anand had Freny’s close friend fill in for him so the plan was all set 🙂 . We realized it was going to be difficult to take pictures of her without her getting suspicious so we came up with a plan that I would be the staff photographer for the fox theatre. This gave me the freedom to take pictures of random people on the group tour but I obviously focused on Freny. It worked out perfectly! Anand had a second surprise. He invited close friends and family and had them all wait at the restaurant across the street (Livingston @ The Georgian Terrace Hotel). When we were done taking pictures Freny thought it was all over and I left as well. A few minutes later Anand walked her into the restaurant and she was shocked to see all the familiar faces! This was definitely one of my favorite surprise proposals and so glad I was part of it! Congrats to Anand and Freny. I wish you both the very best!

Hello Friends! Happy hump day :). Today, I am extremely excited to share the E- session pictures of a really good and long time friend Busola AKA Tidy-up Gal. I’ve known Busola for over a decade (12 years to be exact) and when I look back at many memories in my life over the years I realize she was always there. I remember how we all used to party together (WE-3-ENT days for those that remember) and now we are all grown. She is truly a great friend and I am so happy she found that “REAL LOVE”..LOL haha. I met Lanre a few years ago at a friends house and he seemed like a really cool guy. He was funny and down to earth. Who knew he would fall in love with my friend! Busola and Lanre met at a local Starbucks for their first date so we incorporated that into the shoot and had a blast in the process. We also hit up the Fox theatre for some grown and sexy shots. The love they share for each other was too obvious. I really enjoyed this shoot. I wish you both a blessed and happy married life. Enjoy!
New Year’s Eve 2012 was different than usual for both Lanre and Busola as they met at a local Starbucks for their first date. In fact, the meeting was almost two years overdue – Yewande, Lanre’s family friend (and also Busola’s friend), tried to introduce them way before they finally met. But perfect timing, they say, is one of God’s greatest gifts. They hit it off right away as predicted; and almost a year after that special New Year’s Eve, Lanre popped the big question at Busola’s favorite Thai restaurant. They plan to tie the knot on June 14 2014, and are looking forward to a bright future together.
“I have found the one whom my soul loves.”

Hello there! Thanks for dropping by. Oyin & Dotun officially tied the knot a few weeks ago and I am glad I was part of it. Dotun is actually family so this wedding was a big family affair. Olumide of Mide Events (Dotun’s Sister) was the planner and she did an excellent job for this 700+ guests wedding. So many things I enjoyed about this wedding and I can go on all day about it. The energy and love throughout the day was simply insane. Congrats to Oyin and Dotun! I wish you both a blessed and happy married life! The wedding took place at the beautiful Perimeter Church & reception at the Forsyth Conference Center. Enjoy some images from the day!

Hello guys! I hope you had a great weekend. I am happy to share my very first Dowry ceremony event. I’ve covered an introduction in the past but this was a little different. The dowry ceremony is big must in the Igbo culture. I definitely enjoyed covering this event. I’ve known Ogechi for a while and she has also been in a few weddings I shot in the past. I am always excited when familiar faces reach out to me. With Ogechi’s help I got a breakdown of the Dowry process.
After the girl’s father has done research on the groom’s family and accepted the groom-to-be’s intentions the dowry (bride price) must be negotiated. But first, the bride-to-be must find her love among the crowd of close family and friends. When she finds him, she kneels before him, offers him palm wine which he drinks. Once he drinks the palm wine, the girl’s father blesses the union. The Dowry amount will then be negotiated by the men in both families. Dowry is an amount of money and goods that the girl’s kindred will receive from the groom’s family in exchange for the bride-to-be’s hand in marriage. Many families only exchange the dowry symbolically as no actual price can be paid – of course igbo women are priceless. Once the dowry has been exchanged, the couple, under igbo culture, is now technically married.
Check out some images from the day. Enjoy!
