Hello friends! Excited to share today’s engagement session featuring Bukky and Folabi (AKA Samuel) . Remember their epic surprise proposal? If you have not seen it make sure you check it out here. I am a firm believer that an engagement session should showcase the couple and it should be an enjoyable experience. We definitely accomplished that on this shoot. Usually i’ll provide a short write up about the shoot but today i will share what the Bukky had to say about the shoot. Enjoy!
The shoot was amazing! I was soooo nervous about it but Steve kept reassuring me that it would turn out great… And he was right! The entire day felt so effortless. It was like we were all just hanging out and there happen to be a camera there, Lol. And that’s what I loved most about the experience, the fact that we really didn’t do much “posing”. We would looking at each other or laugh and Steve would get amazing shots from them. I loved how he could capture our never ending goofy side as well as our “Michelle/Barack-power couple-magazine pose” side. Lol.
The inspiration behind the first look is our overwhelming love for the Falcons (Rise up!). We met in Atlanta and both of us are huge American football fans and have a mutual love for the dirty birds, so we had jerseys made with our names and the number 10 (representing our wedding date). And Steve had the genius idea of taking the pics at the Georgia dome, needless to say we were too excited! The second look was our evening/formal look. I had no idea what direction I wanted to go with my dress but steve suggested something different, so I thought hmmmm I don’t really like long dresses(blame my short legs) so we went for a more vintage theme. I knew I wanted a red lip so we went from there with Folabi’s look focusing on a crushed velvet jacket and bow tie and mine on a lace white cocktail dress. For the last look I just wanted something fun! Something atypical and different and a tutu came to mind! Lol. With some reassurance from titispassion, we went with a denim theme with me in a white tutu and denim shirt and him in all denim (he refused to wear white pants lol), and threw in some fun shades. My advice for newly engaged couples is to do what makes you happy and it will turn out great! Don’t worry about who did what and what others will think because at the end of the day it’s about you and your fiancé and no one else.
